A night sky photo in a populated area. The sky is full of stars from top to near the bottom. The bottom features a tall columnar tree jutting into the center of the image, a partially lit building face below it, and a brightly lit palm tree top to it's right. The Southern Cross is prominent to the left of the tall pointy tree, with the cross shape being slightly tilted to the left. Another feature which is more dimly visible to the right of the tall tree and above the palm to the right, it the Carina Nebula, in the constellation Carina. These features in the night sky are very far South, and are not visible in much of the North American Continent. A close up of a portion of the night sky with many stars. Centered in the image is a larger fuzzy, or blurry bright object. That is known as Omega Centauri, in the constellation Centaurs. It is the largest Globular Cluster in the night sky at about 170 Light years across. It is in orbit around our Milky Way Galaxy, and not inside our galaxies disk, but above it. It is over 17,000 light years away from Earth, and composed of over 10 million individual stars.
