The better answer is to not buy Samsung. OneUI is just a worse version of Android
For many years, Galaxy phones have come loaded with extra junk that you probably don't care about. Thankfully, you can remove much of it.
This Samsung Galaxy problem sadly still exists in 2026, but you can easily fix it - Engadget

#Samsung #GalaxyWatch #WearOS #OneUI

had plans to obliterate oneui from my samsung tablet eventually, but at some point in the last few months they disabled bootloader unlocking and blew an efuse to prevent rolling back to a bootloader that allowed it. lmao i love when companies suddenly decide i don't own my devices anymore

Going around Sam's, listening to the new Thao Nguyen album and shopping for stuff, and my phone has spontaneously rebooted FIVE TIMES now in six tracks 🤬
It upgraded to Android 17 and OneUI 9 this weekend, IIRC, and this is the first I've really used it since then 🤔

Today, my Samsung Galaxy S23 got its last OS update, Android 17 and OneUI 9.0. Now I've got about a year of security updates before I'll be forced to upgrade. I don't want to upgrade. I like this phone. Nothing I do needs more phone.

No worries - this seems to be (yet another) search bar rather than the Google one. It's the latest version of Samsung's own Finder app and you can't disable it, you can only switch off its various intrusive permissions... but it won't go away, as it's hardwired into OneUI (as of the latest update)

Samsung's oneui 9 update added a secret feature to stop specific apps from accessing the internet entirely so i added capcut and I got spammed with messages telling me its access is blocked despite not opening it for weeks

I think it was possible in OneUI 8 but somewhere around 8.5/9 the clock size and positioning was restricted more w/o Goodlock and so that's the only way to do it now. I've got such a wild OHO+ setup that I had to teach Kry how to use my phone recently 'cause it's all non-standard gestures
