Made a pilgrimage to 2 ghosts of sea level past & future in Florida, from last time global temp was similar to today 120,000 years ago: an outcrop of oolite in Miami from when it was a sandy shoal under the waves, and in Windley Key a fossil coral reef that now ominously sits 20 feet above sea level

It's been a while since I gave #Oolite a mention. The game has recently reached version 1.92.1, with loads of amazing new features, improved performance and bug fixes. If you need a 21st century #Elite fix, head over to the Oolite page now!

A lot of people are writing about O Cinema on Miami Beach and its mayor trying to censor No Other Land, but it's worth contextualizing in the larger landscape of Miami censoring artists without the same kind of national coverage. Look at Oolite Arts' removal of Palestinian support last year.
"A Slap in the Face": Artist Group Calls for Boycott of Oolite Arts
The group of Miami artists has pledged to maintain its boycott until Oolite Arts agrees to an open dialogue.

Back in 1821, during some digging in the garden of what was then the General Hospital they came across something rather extraordinary: a stone sphinx. Not a colossal Egyptian one, of course, but a smaller oolite figure.
This one a bit scarier from @colmuseums.bsky.social !!! Crikey!
