Family scams have happened to people on bsky. A way to help prevent fraud/scams in identity spoofing, is to have a secret password. ie: "son" sends mom an email asking for $5,000 for an emergency. The son needs to use "twinkle" as a password so the parent knows it's them. No pwd, it's not him.

Tips to spotting romance scammers on Facebook...
Claiming to be widowers and working on oil rigs (usually at sea) are an immediate sign. Do not ever accept friend requests from men claiming those facts. The same goes for military widowers. Bogus 99% of the time.
