#Optery
I use Delete Me and Optery and I’m going to do this too.
If you live in California and you want to take advantage of the state-run portal that tells all registered data brokers to delete your data instead of having to send an individual request to every single one, here is what you need to know: www.eff.org/deeplinks/20...

This is an incredible resource — and as someone who has unthinkingly paid DeleteMe for years, led me to sign up for Optery instead.

No time like the present to improve your opsec:
-use a data broker opt out service like EasyOptOuts or Optery
-switch to Signal
-use a VPN

New from 404 Media: a data removal/privacy service called Optery planned to send its users' data to OpenAI, turned on the setting for customers by default. After a privacy-focused forum noticed, Optery reversed course, now opt-in only www.404media.co/privacy-serv...

We often talk to journalists about likely attacks from trolls. One of the most common ways trolls get your personal data (e.g., email, phone number) is through data brokers. If you haven't already, it's a very good time to invest in a data broker opt-out service (e.g., DeleteMe, Optery).

Optery finds your personal info, proves it with screenshots, and removes it for you. You're busy; let Optery do the work.

An optery account ain’t hurt neither for keeping your home info off the pay sites.

I use Optery and it’s worked well so far. I did my whole family because I would pop up when someone would look them up and vice versa. I’m sure almost any service would work given your desired budget.

Also, if you were affected by some Reddit data breach or another a few years back, you might be entitled to the expensive Optery subscription for free. (I was.) Search your email; I’d missed the notices the first few dozen times, apparently.

Some data brokers are now making you submit your ID and formal legal paperwork, i have to pay Optery like 30 bucks a month to handle it

Superheroes @yael.bsky.social and @hypatia.bsky.social put together some great research comparing the efficacy of anti-data broker services. Tl;dr: None are perfect, but optery sounds relatively strong. Check that out: www.consumerreports.org/electronics/...

Fucking love deleteme. I don’t know about optery but DM is some of the best money I’ve ever spent

See your exposed profile before removal. See that it is gone afterward. Only #Optery provides visual proof of both.

Director of Sales, Dan, helps grow #Optery for Business by working with enterprises to remove employees’ personally identifiable information from the open web. Here's a good read from one of the "Faces of Optery"

This is a good list. I've also had good luck with Optery. Kinda pricey, but thus far it has worked very well.

Optery is going to start using OpenAI to generate opt out reports. Time to cancel. #privacy #surveilance #openai #databrokers

Today’s scams look real because they’re built using exposed personal data.

Paying a few hundred dollars for Optery for a year immediately felt worth it when a defendant client made it clear he had been googling me 😅

Thank you, Kelcie, for moving me to finally act. I chose Optery, but regardless of the service one selects, the cost for privacy is minimal and worth it.

How effective are data broker removal services like DeleteMe and Optery?
March 17, 2025 at 5:55 PM
5/ Review privacy settings. Use a VPN. Be VERY wary of phishing. Consider data removal services like DeleteMe or Optery.

Are they American and have they paid taxes? If so I’ve got bad news for you…

With that being said, Optery, DeleteMe, and PrivacyBee.

It can be rough to stand up for something when people are threatening you, whether it's general bigotry or targeted.

Whatever you do, it's worth subscribing to a security service that removes your info from sites where people can pay for it. Something equivalent to optery in your region.
