For me it was Quake III.
I got my first PC at the start of 2000, and Q3 and Unreal Tournament were the two big games of the time; I really enjoyed both, but Q3 had an immediacy and feel that UT just couldn't quite match, for me.
Full-on high-energy FPS mayhem nirvana ☠️

If there's one of these at an arcade, I will play it until my hands go numb. One day I will have a game room/bar with a piano, pool table, dart board, and #Galaga, and I will never again leave my house. #OriginVideoGame
