Weather is perfect. The trail is overgrown, or probably where it should be in Late May. Not many people hiking the trail this late in season. Season ends in April due to ticks, overgrown, and heat.

Did meet two teachers from Kansas who are doing half of it. #OuachitaTrail

Backpacking the #OuachitaTrail in #Arkansas
Tall pine trees cover the thrust-faulted mountain slope. The sky is blue but a little hazy from prescribed burning in another part of the forest. Water falls over a rock ledge of about 6-8 ft to form a plunge pool at the base.

12 @ 20 dogpacking in the Ouachita Mountains Arkansas
This is mile 20 of our 66 mile version of the Ouachita Vistas bikepacking route. Marsh is cruising along at 12mph as we chase a sunset. Due to time and fitness considerations, (neither of us have biked in November) we cut about 8 miles off the route, mostly single track. Marsh ran about 45 miles of
