i absolutely despise how text works in vegas. if you're using a lot of text it's way too easy to overwrite your existing text or have your text in the wrong place

I have a sneaking suspicion that someone switching from a hashmap to a hashset and looking for an overwrite or update operation might really want something like an LRU cache, to ensure that your data structure is constant sized and has a clear eviction rule.

I don’t get what it would mean to override a value in a set on insert though. In a map, it makes sense that inserting k,v then k,v’ should overwrite v with v’, maybe even in place.
For a set, if I insert v and then v’, why would I want to ‘overwrite’ v? How would I know what to do when I insert w?
