We warmly welcome the publication of the MHC of Ireland's recent Code on surveillance in mental health settings. As far as we understand, this precludes any use of Oxevision within bedrooms. We urge NHSE to follow suit.

Oxehealth, the makers of Oxevision (now rebranded as LIO health), have long boasted that they supply 50% of NHS mental health Trusts in England.
However, as a result of our campaign and increased scrutiny of the technology, we can now reveal this number is down to just 36%!

Oxevision in numbers 11 NHS Trusts have stopped or paused their use of Oxevision. 41% of NHS Trusts that once used Oxevision have stopped using it, scaled back their use or plan to end their contract in the near future. 18 out of 50 NHS Trusts are now using the system - down to 36%! Trusts that have stopped or paused use of Oxevision. Black Country Healthcare NHS Trust Cambridge and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust Devon Partnership NHS Trust: Devon Partnership have Oxevision installed in seclusion and some patient bedrooms but following a complaint raised by Stop Oxevision and contact with the ICO identifying 'cyber security concerns, DPT are reportedly not currently using Oxevision. We are not clear whether or not they plan to use this in the future Hertfordshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust North East London NHS Foundation Trust: Stopped using in bedrooms- still in seclusion North London NHS Foundation Trust (previously Camden and Islington and Barnet, Enfield and Haringey NHS Trusts) Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust (now Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust) South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust

On Wednesday 14th May, the Lampard inquiry will hear evidence about EPUT’s use of Oxevision, with both Oxehealth and EPUT required to give oral evidence. A member of Stop Oxevision has also been called to provide oral evidence on behalf of the campaign.

Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust: Reduced usage to older adult wards, overnight only Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Essex Partnership University NHS Trust Lancashire and South Cumbria Foundation Trust: LSCFT will not be renewing their contract with Oxevision beyond the end of 2026 Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Trust West London NHS Trust Trusts that only use Oxevision in seclusion rooms and/or 136 suites. Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust East London NHS Foundation Trust North East London NHS Foundation Trust NELFT stopped using Oxevision within patient bedrooms but continue to use it in seclusion rooms. Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Other private, police and prison settings that use Oxevision. Active Care Group (formerly Huntercombe) Use Oxevision in patient bedrooms. Devon and Cornwall Police Use Oxevision within all police custody suites in Devon and Cornwall. Metropolitan Police Use Oxevision in Wood Green police station, North London. HMP Woodhill Use Oxevision in an extra care wing/ clinical assessment unit operated by Central and North West London NHS Trust. Care homes Oxevision has been used in care homes in Oxfordshire and Sweden. As care homes are generally privatised, it has been very hard to map exactly where it is used.
