Billionaires and super PACs have made the 2026 midterm the most expensive election EVER — eclipsing even the 2024 election

Citizens United is among the worst decisions in history. It corrupts our system every day.

But today, organized people can defeat organized money.

Things would be a lot more democratic if we didn’t have political lobbying and pacs/super PACs. It allows those with the most money to control politicians. It’s legal bribery.
Meet the donors behind incoming speaker Hakeem Jeffries:

-Anduril CEO Brian Schimpf: $100,000
-Anduril COO Matthew Grimm: $44,300
-Palantir’s Mehdi Allhassani: $44,300

James Talarico: I don't take corporate PAC money. I'm running to ban super PACs and corporate PACs so billionaires aren't spending unlimited secret money on our political campaigns.

James Talarico: I want to ban Super PACs. I want to cap campaign contributions. I don’t think members of Congress should be allowed to buy and sell stocks. We have to end insider trading in both political parties

This race is a big eye opener of how Super PACs are influencing our politics. There were massive amounts of money spent on this primary. Ever since Citizens United, we can’t count on some politicians being indebted to special interests of these PACs.

How bad is it looking for the Republicans? Several GOP super-PACs have pumped $1.5 million into the Senate race in *Louisiana*.

He took aim at AIPAC:

“To the super PACs and special interests who tried to beat us, we are coming for your system of politics. To AIPAC, who spent $42 million against us, thank you for giving me the opportunity to beat you twice.”

Super PACs are fascists

Ehhhh if you bring the PACs into this doesn’t it look different
November 3, 2026 at 2:48 AM
Republicans Strategery:

1. Let’s condition all our grassroots donors to send their money to the PACs of a guy who isn’t running.

2. Siphoning them away from giving to candidates who are on the ballot.

3. Then take that guy with a 38% approval & make the election all about him.

How about putting an end to the PACs- AIPAC in particular for their hold over politicians?
