#PAT25
Educated guess: since the DCA PAT25 crash and all the scrutiny of both those missions and the crews (e.g., CPT Lobach having such low flight time), MUSL is feeling the heat and trying to get everyone up to a level that will pass muster.

Last year, 67 lives were tragically & avoidably lost when the American Airlines Flight 5342 & Army PAT25 collided in Washington, DC. I urge Speaker Johnson, Leader Scalise, & Whip Emmer to honor the will of the House, which resoundingly voted for the ROTOR Act, & pass it under a rule.

My statement:

same time, a U.S. Army UH-60 Black Hawk (PAT25) was transiting the river corridor on a night-vision-goggles evaluation flight.

They met over the Potomac.

Sixty-seven people died.

for whatever reason I was under the impression that PAT25 went 'dark' or hopped to the wrong channel on the radio

we need more people working ATC

January 27, 2026 at 9:12 PM
yep. PAT25 had the CRJ visible almost the whole time.

I'm still curious about PAT25.

On this week’s AvTalk, takeaways from the NTSB’s investigative hearings on the DCA midair collision, the final report on the Gazpromavia Superjet crash, and an American Airlines 737 rejected takeoff highlights continued evacuation problems. www.flightradar24.com/blog/avtalk-...

Tower controller 100% recognized that this didn’t look good and asked pat25 TWICE if they had the RJ in sight. What was he supposed to do, get out there and fly the helicopter for them?

Good to see that the NTSB has finally been told to stop using "Bombardier" which no longer exists for commercial aviation and MHI does not have rights to use that trademark,

like you watch these and you see just how FAST they can happen, but PAT25 said they had visual on the CRJ so who knows really. would be interesting

Yes, yes, and yes agreed on all. Especially the ADS-B given the ominous finding and suggestion in the prelim report that the PAT25’s altitude values in the flight data recorder were invalid and may have affected other instruments.
July 21, 2025 at 11:31 PM
I agree most of the blame is with the B-52, but based on the DCA Prelim report the PAT25 also deviated from norms. The helicopter route was a disaster waiting to happen, but the CVR is missing ATC transmissions and at one point the two pilots call out 2 different altitudes and just don’t discuss it

NTSB is investigating Friday’s loss of separation between a Delta Airbus A319 and a group of Air Force T-38 Talon jets near DCA.
