Zoey was the second character whose clothes I finalized. It was also the first I tackled. Early on, I was going for a more "Treasure Planet" or "pirate adventure" theme with the sleeveless and trinket, but I kept thinking about her with really baggy clothes, so that stuck.

I drew Rumi's first design after pushing myself to start drawing again, and it was difficult since my hand dexterity is weak. To make it easier for my muscle memory, I just made an outfit similar to the "baggy jacket/pants" style I give to some of my OCs.

Early on, I wasn't sure how Mira would look. Originally, I was just doing drawing exercises, since I was rusty with art. It was a bit later that I (impulsively, TBH) decided that she would be a cyborg/forced into a robotic body a la the mechanical bodies in Galaxy Express 999.

I gave Mira a large jacket since I wanted her to have an imposing silhouette, but I later made it transparent because it's important for her to not hide her body. "Wires and Chains" has existential undertones with Mira's humanity, so her exposing her body is part of her goal.
