No, it’s got to be their long use of civilian infrastructure to wage war.

Start planning early for the end of PFI contracts
Start early, involve all departments – and remember the end of PPP and PFI could be a catalyst for change

A campaign was launched against these PFI hospital plans, and it was actually successful.

The hospital that was falling down, is still there.

But of course, the report was generated to order, because someone wanted to build a PFI hospital. There was money involved.

I thought we were told all of the GB Energy PFI projects were going to give us all cheap bills?

Or perhaps this was just a cynical green-washing lie that was designed to kick the can down the road til they could get another round of fossil fuel licenses granted?

Another historic betrayal.

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg, because I’m incandescent 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 about tuition fees, academies, Lab’s continued reluctance to put 💦 in public ownership/nationalise it.
Then there’s PFI, Palantir in our NHS, and the rest.
Perhaps ppl only voted Labour because they weren’t Tory/Reform?

Defence Industrial Plan was made but the exact plan for what was going to be purchased wasn’t made clear. That’s due to follow and that’s the weak point in this whole situation. Investment in UK arms industries and infrastructure was made along with the use of PFI - a process where private sector

PFI, PPP is a Ponzi scheme for the asset classes.
BTW this is all highly illegal within the EU, the EU Commission clearly states that state aid must not be used for profit motive in free zones.
This is why Brexit was forced through.

Not only are they locked into decades-long PFI/PPP infrastructure contracts, but they are also still bleeding money to cover the £770m+ equal pay scandal that the old administration dragged through the courts for years instead of just paying the workers..............

During the last Labour govt Burnham created the only PFI hospital in the NHS and privatised an NHS hospital, and covered up Mid-Staffs.

As PM he's pushing the dismantling of trans healthcare and endorses the fraudulent Cass review, and is covering up NHS abuse and deaths of trans women and girls.

Eg. During the last Labour Government, a report was generated into the hospital in my old home town. Apparently it was nearly falling down, and a new PFI hospital would be needed...

I am surprised none of the media commentators have said this. Frankly when they ask "how will 3.5% be funded?" the answer is "your grandkids, via PFI contracts"

It is possible to make PFI work, but the public sector is crap at managing the contracts, and the private sector treats them as a goldmine

great but FFS, PFI, thats just a money making rip off of public funds

She stood for privatisation and outsourced public services. Right up Andy PFI Burnham's street.
October 30, 2026 at 12:17 PM
The man who liked PFI so much he even wanted to do it for the military?
The one who won't even renationalise the very worst and most brankrupt water companies?
The man pusing Palantir on the NHS?

*Saying* he wants to end neoliberalism is what he does to distract from his furthering of it.

This world right now is capitalism. Labour hasn't been a social democratic party since Callaghan.
So to say that Labour is progress would be extremely disingenuous to the truth & lived realities of a growing majority of people under 50.

And mine remembers a Labour Government rolling tanks on to the streets supporting interment & Juryless courts.

Since Callaghan introduced the IMF to the British Economy he brought back the handbrake & brought in the ideology of Capitalism. Tony Blair used to turn 13bn in PFI & into £83bn of profit
