Got publicly mocked in English class because I wrote that an explorer was wearing a Topee (hat) and the teacher didn't know what it was and thought I was talking about a toupée.

This news aboout the peel and pith and stalks of fruit and veg having more fibre than the bit we eat is not exactly new. I first heard 40y ago we should be eating the potato skins! But surely there's a reason we don't eat banana skins, pineapple stalks etc?

Should've noted in the alt text that the hat is specifically a pith helmet, a form of hat widely used by British troops in colonization campaigns especially in SE Asia and Africa. The caption - "Pity hell: met" - is meant to be a pun on the term pith helmet.
