Wake Forest defeats Maryland Eastern Shore 83-62
The Demon Deacons won big over the Hawks in their season opener, 83-62. Wake Forest shot well, making 52.6% of its field goal attempts while holding Maryland-Eastern Shore to 38.3% shooting. Wake Forest had good games from each of the Placide brothers. Gavin Placide scored 20 points, grabbed seven rebounds, had three steals, two assists, and two blocks. Gallagher Placide came off the bench to score 13 points on 6-10 shooting. Kevair Kennedy was just a little shy of a triple-double, recording 14 points, nine rebounds, eight assists, and four steals. For Maryland-Eastern Shore, Bobby Gardner had 30 points on 11-19 shooting.
