Farmer enrollment rose by 32 per cent from 3.17 crore (2022–23) to 4.19 crore (2024–25) -- the highest since launch. Non-loanee farmer applications grew from 20 lakh (2014–15) to 522 lakh (2024–25), reflecting wider adoption, according to the data.

New Delhi, Aug 10 (PTI) Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will on Monday digitally transfer a crop insurance claim amount of ₹3,200 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) to 30 lakh farmer beneficiaries. The PMFBY claim amount will be transferred during an event organised for this purpose in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan. Besides Chouhan, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, Union Minister of State for Agriculture Bhagirath Choudhary, and state agriculture minister Kirodi Lal Meena will attend the event.

New Delhi: The Center on Wednesday extended two crop insurance schemes - PMFBY and RWBCIS - for another year till 2025-26. Along with this, a separate fund of Rs 824.77 crore has also been created for the use of technology in the implementation of major schemes. A decision in this regard was taken in the meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Agriculture minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will digitally transfer Rs 3,200 crore in crop insurance claims on Monday under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) to 30 lakh farmer beneficiaries. The transfer will take place during an event in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, attended by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, Union Minister of State for Agriculture Bhagirath Choudhary, and state agriculture minister Kirodi Lal Meena, PTI reported.According to an official statement, of the total claim amount, Rs 1,156 crore will go to farmers in Madhya Pradesh, Rs 1,121 crore to 7 lakh farmers in Rajasthan, Rs 150 crore to beneficiaries in Chhattisgarh, and Rs 773 crore to farmers in other states.Chouhan said the Centre has introduced a simplified claim settlement system in the interest of farmers, allowing proportionate payments based only on the central subsidy without waiting for the state’s premium contribution.

जंगली जानवरों व जलभराव से फसल के नुकसान पर बीमा मिलने के केन्द्र सरकार के निर्णय पर सांसद महिमा कुमारी मेवाड़ ने जताया आभार।  जंगली जानवरों से फसलों के नुकसान को बीमे में शामिल करने के केन्द्र सरकार के निर्णय पर राजसमंद सांसद महिमा कुमारी मेवाड़ आभार जताया। सांसद महिमा कुमार ने बताया कि देशभर के किसानों के लिए केंद्र सरकार ने एक ऐतिहासिक निर्णय लेते हुए प्रधानमंत्री फसल बीमा योजना (PMFBY) का दायरा बढ़ा दिया है। पत्र लिखकर लिया था आग्रह अब जंगली जानवरों द्वारा फसल नुकसान और जलभराव से होने वाला नुकसान भी फसल बीमा के अंतर्गत शामिल कर लिया गया है। यह निर्णय खरीफ 2026 से लागू होगा। इस महत्वपूर्ण फैसले में राजसमंद सांसद महिमा कुमारी मेवाड़ की भूमिका रही है। राजसमंद के किसानों को होने वाले लगातार फसल नुकसान को देखते हुए सांसद महिमा मेवाड़ ने सितंबर 2025 में कृषि मंत्री शिवराज सिंह चौहान को पत्र लिखकर जंगली सूअर व अन्य जंगली जानवरों द्वारा फसल नुकसान को फसल बीमा के दायरे में शामिल करने का अनुरोध किया था।

प्रधानमंत्री फसल बीमा योजना के तहत किसानों को मिलने वाले फसलों के क्लेम में ठगी गिरोह सेंध लगा रहे हैं। पूरे प्रदेश में सैकड़ों किसानों की जमीन पर फर्जी बंटाईदार बनाकर उनका बीमा किया गया। फिर वहां फसलों को नुकसान (फसल खराबा) दिखाकर करोड़ों रुपए के क्ल किसानों के साथ इतने बड़े स्तर पर ठगी को कैसे अंजाम दिया गया? भास्कर ने इसकी पड़ताल की। सामने आया कि इसके पीछे गिरोह है, जिसने योजना के 'लूपहोल' का फायदा उठाया। जनसेवा केंद्रों से लेकर कृषि विभाग, राजस्व विभाग और बीमा कंपनी की बिना मिलीभगत के इतने बड़े स्तर पर ठगी संभव नहीं है।
