I think MinDef Kim Yong-hyun & Martial Law Commander Gen. Park An-su will be sacked. Incredible political miscalculation. Yoon is a brilliant lawyer & former prosecutor, but not a politician before running for POTROK.

That's only partially right. The Combined Forces Command is headed by the US 4-star, but CFC is designed to be COMBINED, including in decision-making. Not having a POTROK as commander in chief of the ROK military is huge problem.

Right. That's the current puzzle. With an impeachment (2/3 of the NA members), the POTROK is temporarily removed from office pending adjudication by the court. If the court can't rule on the case, I think it could go on indefinitely until new justices are appointed. Not a lawyer though...

Two points of miscalculation by Han:
1) liberals only need 10 defections to get impeachment through. Nothing he can do to stop that. His colleagues don’t need to worry about running for POTROK next year.
2) if he votes against impeachment and it still passes, he’s done. Possibly forever.

Just because POTROK can *technically* declare martial law doesn't mean he can rule as an autocrat at the press of a button. You need to convince the public and key stakeholders.
But like every other thing Yoon's tried over the past 2 yrs, he was unwilling to do the work to actually make it happen.
