Finally got an Amstrad PPC640 computer. It's a neat portable computer but the screen is not great. That, however, was to be expected. Interesting form factor and while it has a battery compartment ("C" cell), it's not practical as it doesn't last long . It's more of a "luggable".

I cannot get any VGA video card to work reliably in my Amstrad PPC640, tried these cards, changed every dip switch and jumper, still no luck.

I have an LCD monitor that accepts native CGA video signals, quite unusual even for NEC Multisync (this is a Dell). I need to do some further testing and also build a proper cable for it, as it's seriously useful, especially for vintage laptops that have low quality screens like this Amstrad PPC640.

Day 68 - #retrorandom - Here's a machine I ought to give a little more love - my Amstrad PPC640, one of the few machines I still have from back in the day. I used to take this with me when I visited family - the internal modem and a DOS email client meant I could keep in touch with work!
