A Platinum Prefounte fountain pen next to a bottle of Mita San Shodo ink. It has the Platinum “slip and seal” cap, which means it NEVER dries out. I’ve found Platinums in purses I had forgotten about for months, and they write beautifully on the first try.

My favorite ink is still De Atramentis Cola (scented). The scent and color are spot on, I love red-browns for writing, the texture is silky and it has body while still shading beautifully. Inked in an eyedroppered Platinum Prefounte.

I just saw Drew Brown - on Fahrney's Pens YouTube channel - go over 'The Three Ps of Platinum'. I don't have a Preppy, but I really dig my Plaisir (M) and Prefounte (M) fountain pens. On occasion, there've been months between use, but they've always been juicy for me. Budget-friendly, too.

Just for laughs I wanted to try cheap fountain pens. The first one: Platinum Prefounte with medium nib. I was very skeptical... there was basically no pen there... Then came my "wowsers" moment: The nib was smooth, oh so smooth and perfect. More cheapies are coming in. Will there be more surprises?

Seit ich japanische Füller kenne, mach ich mir nichts mehr aus Lamy & Co. Der Platinum Prefounte ist mein Favorit unter den günstigen Füllern. Zwar inkompatibel mit den hiesigen Patronen, aber es gibt Adapter und Konverter oder man füllt die leere Patrone einfach easy mit ner Pipette nach.
