That said, and leaving aside the PRMB, the quiet dropping of the ECJ 'red line' is (potentially) a really important change, which opens up a lot of possibilities.

It might imply dynamic alignment, but it doesn't entail it, so I'm not sure that, in and of itself, it concedes the principle. (BTW, the PRMB hasn't been little-noticed by Brexit watchers!)

Yep. That is what I was sorta expecting when I saw that PRMB bill but I still can't square it with Trois Nons Starmers stance...no rejoin, no CU and no SM.
As an aside, the direction of traffic, if it does end up at CU access, sounds really similar to Theresa Mays deal, no?

Well maybe we are talking at x-purposes. My point is that alignment creates 2 levels of benefit, but PRMB only unlocks the first (and smaller) of them (and/ but/ so has no implications for the KS red lines). But none of this is to do with the CU - it's a regulatory issue, not a customs issue.

OK, but I guess I would draw a distinction between PRMB (enabling swift reg alignment, but not entailing ECJ in itself) and accepting (at least tacitly, by its omission as a red line) ECJ. And (as per another post I just made) there are important practical differences.
