The subminimum wage is allowed via a certificate issued by the DOL that exempts businesses from paying a minimum wage if their employees fall into specific disability classes. It was invented as a means of providing PWDs employment while also keeping benefits. In reality, it's used for cheap labor.

I asked a disability support agency about the possibility of getting remote assistance with phone calls and admin.
I was told this wasn't possible due to boundary confusion...by their workers.
How can they trust their workers to care for PWDs if they can't be trusted to make phone calls from home?

Just more horrors. Cops kill another dog while searching for someone not even at the home they were at. A highly trained service dog was not a threat to police but that doesn't matter, they killed her anyway. Why do cops do this? Less paperwork then killing people?

I’m a chronic pain patient who needs a controlled substance medication to control my pain. PLEASE call your senators to tell them *not* to confirm RFK Jr, a guy who has NO BUSINESS telling PWDs what meds they can take.

it was really nice to visit a fair not just celebrating arts and crafts, but giving opportunities to pwds..anyone can express themselves with art..🙏

When #disasters hit, PWDs are an outsized share of casualties & face unique hurdles re: transportation, shelter, access to services & healthcare, and equitable recovery. Meanwhile, extreme heat harms PWDs, who have lower quality housing & HVAC on avg, & often have thermoregulation issues.
