Ridiculous...my grandparents had a farm on the Western Darling Downs it was always in drought..full of melon hole paddies you would use the tractor to pull the cows out of the dams because it was just caked mud.

Hardly recognize em at EOD apparently they spent day in the black muddy muck working on water system for rice paddies. Filthy from head to toe. Crashed & up & at it all over again. They always seemed lonely & imo isolated bc of the severe communication issue between the dutch-creole accent & diction

We heard the story about the 11 at his memorial. His co pilot told it, none of us had ever heard it before. Stripped bird, 500lbs x-tra fuel, deep in enemy territory. Skimmed the rice paddies, barely making it over the levees full throttle, had no idea of numbers until landing, nearly out of fuel. 🫡
