originally they were gonna end up in a fight and their complete lack of synergy would have started the argument. but alas action sequences are heavy on the pagecount and it really wouldnt have added that much except that i think its a funny reference

I think my biggest problem trying to read rofan stuff anymore is how many times they'll advertise themselves on the Romantic Dynamic between the two leads and then in actual pagecount it's 90% some worthless bullshit like planting vegetables or starting a boutique shoppe or Political Intrigue

the point can be distilled down to "here we see the politics of Instagrammable splendor for the masses to see and the elite to enjoy as the massive ballroom construction" and not be so padded out like this is an undergrad with a pagecount to hit.

I've often thought of LeGuin's "Always Coming Home" as something of a counter to the worldbuilding-is-pointless attitudes you see sometimes. By pagecount more than half the novel is entirely given over to fictional anthropological notes and fragments of background detail, and it works very well!

Finally powered through the remaining layouts I had to do, so I now have an actual pagecount for Eldritchrune's ending! Still a lot of drawing left to do, but ah man it at least feels good to have a tangible goal!
Just gotta finish before chapter six somehow...
