The 512 CE Zabad inscription is very northern. Were the Arabic-speaking Christians who contributed/caused the Paleo-Arabic part living in the region, or were they there for the construction project or for other purposes?

Do you believe Christians were responsible for creating the literary context in which the (Paleo-)Arabic script and subsequently the Qurʾān emerged from? Something akin to what we see the influence of Christianity had on the Armenian, Cyrillic, and (less convincingly) the Geʿez abugida script?

I had to use page 44 since 45 was a graphics chart.
"This is the alphabet from which Canaanite or "Phoenician" (as the Greeks called it), Aramaic, paleo-Hebrew and Hebrew, Nabatean, Greek, and Arabic scripts were derived, right down to the modern European alphabet, via Etruscan and Latin."

teaching myself Syriac for laffs right now and damn they really like their alap. you get a nice vertical line in Arabic, a fun little guy in Hebrew, a sideways turned A in Phoenician/Paleo Hebrew, but in Syriac it takes up the space of two normal letters and begins words you wouldn't expect (Isaiah)

I see the first is Samaritan (I'd have guessed paleo-Hebrew, close enough), then Syriac, Arabic, Hebrew, Ge'ez, and the last one stumps me

In this video I chat with Dr. Ahmad Al-Jallad and Dr. Hythem Sidky about a recently discovered Paleo-Arabic Inscription found in Taif, which may be from a companion of Muhammad. Houses and temples have a strong gothic influence, but also romanic, bizantine, arabic, grecoroman and paleo Christian.
They mixed brick walls with stone decorations and marbled floors.
