#Paleolimnological
Meet @willvuyk.bsky.social! An #ecology PhD student in our lab and the @microarch-lab.bsky.social studying the impacts and legacies of past more-than-human ecosystem engineering. Will uses paleolimnological and aDNA techniques to reconstruct ancient and historical human-modified ecosystems. 1/2

Academy Research Fellow Minna Hiltunen aims to reconstruct what Finland’s lakes were like before browning of waters alarmingly accelerated decades ago. With a unique paleolimnological research method she will is analyze the resting eggs of water fleas buried within the sediments.

I recently paid 35 eur for shipping and 50 eur for import of the 5 year old harddrive (belonging to me btw), with some images of paleolimnological slides/ subfossills - this is definetly not just US (also, this is a reason why say, US made sediment corerr costs me 250-300% of US VAT free price)
