The lovely Sleeping Lady, a Neolithic burial figure discovered in the Hal Saflieni Hypogeum, now in NMA Malta. Her form is obviously stylised but the artist would need to have observed from life to get the shoulder placement that accurate

30 years ago explorers led by Jean-Marie Chauvet ventured into a narrow crevice in a cliff face in a valley in France. Painted on the walls was the lost world. The paintings are beautiful and unimaginably old.
