#Paradiplomacy
This is something of a revolution in paradiplomacy! Traditionally and obviously NYC has been zealously symbolically pro Israel (even if tacitly willing to facilitate the UN and work with eg Palestinian delegations). This is reminiscent of boycotts against South Africa…a big blow to Netanyahu
Benjamin Netanyahu is a war criminal.

A less fragile administration might be more comfortable with admitting this kind of paradiplomacy can be positive and impactful. But not this UK government. Instead? The cringe. Today's @scotnational.bsky.social column. www.thenational.scot/politics/260...

Working on a project about the paradiplomacy of far-right mayors/local leaders. Brussels has unsurprisingly been a target of far-right paradiplomacy. It appears Ukraine now may be, as well, after a mayor removed Ukraine's flag from city hall (france24.com/en/live-news...).
Several French far-right mayors take down EU flags
Several recently elected far-right mayors have taken down European Union flags from the facades of their town halls, in a move the French government denounced as "populism".

26 days later: Starlink deal still on, and a partisan campaign trip to Washington disguised as paradiplomacy while the country faces an existential threat.

Lots of rhetoric but I still can't see any empirical evidence for crisis leadership skills required to "protect Ontario".
The COVID-19 pandemic was the litmus test for crisis leadership.

Considering his poor performance back then, Doug Ford should never have emerged as "Captain Canada".

Memory fades, which is why I wrote a short op-ed ⬇️

Considering his handling of COVID-19, is he able to take on Donald Trump?

States will have to run rearguard actions to remain in contact with those who are deported. Paradiplomacy is the motto. Liberal states’ rights is the motto.
Today's SCOTUS decision means that the Trump administration may prematurely terminate TPS for Haiti, Syria, and any other country it wishes, without bothering to offer any legitimate justification or following the procedures required by Congress, because courts cannot review the decision.
