oh i think i could defend that title. its a shakespeare reference and only slightly stretches the rules of paraphrastic translation a little.

First eight pages of John Cassian's monastic rule were much as I expected. Overall easy reading, but vocabulary of clothing that was difficult to find translations for. Not paraphrastic translations help much for items of clothing from late Antiquity

I have found Politico's write ups on the fed worker provisions of BBB to be a bit too paraphrastic. I would infer that the (ridiculous) 9.4 -> 15.6 would apply to new hires, since 9.4 was only ever discussed in connection with new hires.

No, the reference to paraphrase is not implying that. Human writers tended to reword things; LLMs more often included verbatim phrases from the original. But neither approach implies material omission.

I used to think « fermée à clef » was an odd paraphrastic for “locked” until I met « verrouillée », the word that one is avoiding by saying that.
