#foodsky Pawpaw update! I planted a couple pawpaw trees, like, 7 years ago. One died. This one started flowering last year but it needs another tree to pollinate. I found a stand of wild trees in my waaay back yard and a couple were flowering so I cross pollinated(not prolifically) and 4 fruit set.

Pawpaw is the largest native fruit in the US, with a creamy flavor often compared to banana and mango. Once loved by early Americans, it’s now making a quiet comeback.

Eating a pawpaw. They're creamy textured and have an interesting flavor, not the same as their perfumy odor. I can see why it's also called custard apple, but it's closer to a mango. Those are hickory nuts next to it
