Following a lengthy review and a split council debate over readability and scope, Grants Pass City Council voted 4-3 May 6 to award a $27,500 contract to Logic Compensation Group for a nonbargaining salary and compensation study, contingent on the firm working with council and staff to present results in a clear, council-ready format.

After hours of debate over a consultant study and what peer cities to use as comparators, Grants Pass council voted to issue an RFP for a third‑party review of the nonbargaining (management) pay schedule and to include an analysis of whether the city manager’s pay should be outside the salary structure.
