I'm a contractor not a GS payscale employee and my actual employer sent us an email that basically said "yeah we have no idea what's going on but we fully intend to comply with requests for reduction in force if they come through, here's the hotline if you need a therapist, have a nice day"

It's weird because they've given me so much in arrears that it's like they think I should have been on Point 6 for a year or so! And there's no reason I can see for it, which means they'll probably take it back off me *gutpunched noises*

My story is very similar, it's just in 2003 and my job was Americorps, which if you know you know when it comes to that payscale. I needed to escape to a safer place, and many many other people do too. We should welcome them.
As I was listening to public testimony on the Comp Plan today, I was thinking about the 19-year-old me who moved here in 2006 with $1,500 and no job. The fact that the city was open to me then, something that simply isn't true today, changed my life.

So to say MPs are paid “less than a headmaster” is pretty dishonest imo.
