I got my car back, after FOUR MONTHS IN THE SHOP.

Other than time, though, I have to say the process was pretty seamless, and Allstate, Enterprise, and Lee's Auto Body in Pearisburg were all professional, friendly, and helpful throughout.

Day 45 on the Appalachian Trail!

Got to see Angel's Rest and stop in Pearisburg, VA! Angels Rest Hikers Hostel was good but a bit crowded with the rain. Taxi and I didn't hike too far so several members of our trail family caught up to us! We also got Dairy Queen.

First hike along the AT’s Rice Fields Trail, near Narrows and Pearisburg, VA. Kudos to the trail builders for the 1200ft climb up Peters Mountain. At 3400ft, the summit offers great panoramic views of Virginia and West Virginia.

Foot traffic has left an extremely narrow strip of bare ground where the trail runs. The surrounding forest is filled with trees and shrubs just beginning to sprout leaves, with a flowering shrub in the right foreground.

We are atop a lofty ridge crest walking a footpath bordered with lush green grass through thickets of rhododendron and small leafless trees beneath a bright hazy whitewashed sky. From the peak the trail will descend through a forest of small trees. Some of the treetops are visible around the summit. Most are still leafless, though many are budding. A series of other mountain ranges cascade to the horizon, fading into the haze.

Tom and some other hikers who I had overtaken were there. They had decided to stay the night, as a big thunderstorm seemed to be brewing and it was foolish to risk life and limb along that high ridge crest merely to make Pearisburg tonight.

I agree, but it takes more than one election to rebuild a political party. Current Dem State Party Chair is a "consultant" from DC.
What's her contact in Hillsville? South Boston, Pearisburg, Farmville, etc...
Like national DNC, will take time and effort to return to most of state.
