It's always wonderful to find waterfalls on naked hikes in the Pennines.

Some of the sights you'd see while doing "Lejog", Land's End to John o' Groats. A short jog of 1,557 km. Working up from Cornwall through the Midlands and the Pennines into the Scottish Highlands.

Autumn has been glorious but I can definitely feel winter encroaching here on the Pennines.

This is why the Pennines are a good idea. It separates the rites from the notrites

Thank you so much for your lovely comment, Paul. Always appreciate it. The Pennines are often bleak but they are also extremely beautiful 💚🧡

I don’t want to restart the war of the roses with my brothers and sisters over the Pennines but I’ll tell you one thing…he’s no secret Yorkshireman!

Although a short YouTube about the highest roads in the UK... actually a lovely video about where I live: the North Pennines. He talks about the A689... which is the main road that runs through my parishes... I'm the Vicar of the highest roads in the UK #ClergyWhoCycle

So on that side of the Pennines, ginger cake that's supposed to be ginger isn't ginger & the parkin that's not ginger cake is actually ginger.

I hope that clarifies matters.

PS I had the parkin 😋, which was as big as a dinner plate & very flat; but not called a flat cake, which is a barm cake.

Pedham's Oak farmstead up on the Pennines, west of Edmunbyers in County Durham. For more than sixty years, this property has stood empty and exposed to the often harsh weather – a derelict, yet enigmatic ruin.

My latest 4K photography video is now available over on YouTube. This time I have been out photographing and filming the antics of some cute, feisty and inquisitive Red squirrels in the North Pennines, UK. #RedSquirrels #Wildlifephotography #Nature #NorthPennines youtu.be/pht0x5SiuMg?...

Sure, they're allowed to use solar, wind and water, with batteries. Preferably on the Pennines.

Looks like Thixendale, but then it all looks so familiar in these lovely photos. My rugged Pennines where we lived are great, deep valleys, rushing streams etc but there's a therapeutic peace in them thar rolling wolds.

Beautiful frames Deborah, your hearts imprint as always. Winter though, as you say, doth approach.

Those Pennines bring back many memories...

Then again as anyone from the East of the Pennines will tell you, listen to a Manc and everything comes from Manchester. Before anyone shouts at me, it’s a fantastic city and loads of amazing things have happened there musically, just other places also have rich and important histories.
