Dr. Gopal Patel told the House committee that procedures that penetrate or injure skin pose bleeding, infection, scarring and misdiagnosis risks and said microneedling and dermaplaning should be performed in medical practices with on-site supervision rather than unsupervised salons or loosely supervised med-spas.
