And round and round it goes. I had this fight. Same drug. Same cancer. Because, apparently, it's an "auto reject" drug, despite being the decades-long standard in breast cancer care. Trastuzumab (Herceptin), pertuzumab (Perjeta), ado-trastuzumab emtansine (Kadcyla)...all of them.

I am alive because of the invention of chemotherapy, radiation, and Perjeta and Herceptin. This isn’t the time to go back to the stone ages for treatment. We need to keep leveraging technology to save lives, not punish and withhold treatment all while trying to call oneself the party of pro-life.

My wife has stage 3 inflammatory breast cancer. 25 years ago the median survival was 2 years.
Now it's like 7? All the drugs she takes were invented in the last ~15 years (Herceptin, Perjeta, Kadcyla, Nerlynx) and we're hoping to get her into a vaccine trial.
