The fight for an open and free internet is basically over, Tuta-chan.

Even the underground groups basically gave up and retreated to their communities. AI is not killing the open web, it was already dead by then.

It was killed by the Algorithmic Era before AI. And fractured in the Permacrisis Era.

There is a term now called "permacrisis"—the feeling of living through a permanent state of crisis. Between the pandemic, economic inflation, climate change, and the political polarization in both the US and Europe, many people feel like they haven't had a moment to breathe or feel "safe" in years.

The only way to solve this permacrisis of high energy bills is to get off fossil fuels by making sure every household and business can benefit from the switch to renewable energy.

3/4 In his latest column, Abheek Barua, former Chief Economist of HDFC Bank, asks whether the RBI’s inflation target and reaction function need to account for this new reality.

2/4 When these shocks persist, they can raise inflation expectations, encourage precautionary stockpiling and weigh on output and demand—complicating the choices facing central banks.

1/4 Can monetary policy keep treating supply shocks as temporary?

Climate events, geopolitical conflict and restrictions on critical inputs are creating repeated disruptions.

We often call this era a "permacrisis," but sometimes it feels like a permarape. Just constant violation of mind, body, soul, earth, & psyche.

We’re living through an era of permacrisis.

In times like these, Europe's answer is cooperation over conflict. Partnership with allies across the world that leads to a win-win for all.

That's Europe's way. That's how we all move forward.

It's not permacrisis at all.

It's elements of the kremlin's original (USSR) war plans that, as their invasion of Ukraine failed, they were forced to rapidly develop a response plan, but they also knew of netanyahoo's plans and have [sadly] skillfully crafted kremlin plans to leverage everything.

...International responsibilities and focus on domestic only policies and politics.

This could have been avoided.

We did not have to enter a Permacrisis Era, where the flames of conflict are seemingly unending, and countless crises arise constantly.

The UN was made to prevent this.

My sympathies to the posts by @phdhurtbrain.bsky.social and @thomasacstout.bsky.social, but:

1) how often have we seen humanities scholars try to take an ´offensive´ posture?

2) it doesn´t help when senior scholars admit that the ´permacrisis´ is their primary argument when negotiating for funds

All this is true in normal times. In the current sector permacrisis when there are mass redundancies everywhere, it's never been more important. Join. A. Union.

If @albomp.bsky.social’s gov is going to stymie climate action for the sake of foreign corporations (see last post), they sure as hell better start working out how to fund climate disaster mitigation. #Auspol
