The Shahanshah Khosrow II had been exiled in Roman territory and supported in his return by the Emperor Maurice. Maurice was couped by Phocas and killed, and avenging this was a casus belli for Khosrow. This is some space opera shit

Bon, la diff' par rapport à Macron, c'est que Phocas a probablement fait aveugler les meneurs. Mais bon, on s'est quand même bien marré

Arch of Septimius Severus in Rome erected in 203, and the Column of Phocas erected in 608 - which was the last monument added to the Roman Forum

💯TFG is way too similar to Byzantine Emperor Phocas en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phocas

For all dudes apparently spend LOADS of time thinking about the Roman Empire, their brains are apparently totally glossing over Cincinnatus, Commodus, Domitian, and Phocas and it shows.

Meet Phocas, my dnd characters kitten.

Fun fact: he was named after a Byzantine emperor from around 600CE.
