Phoenotopia is a very cool adventure Zelda-kinda thing. Cool setting, fun environments, gorgeous art. Punishing combat can be worked around by setting the difficulty option that lets you heal while the game is paused.

Phoenotopia is a very cool adventure Zelda-kinda thing. Cool setting, fun environments, gorgeous art. Punishing combat can be worked around by setting the difficulty option that lets you heal while the game is paused.

A resurgent opinion is that The Legend Of Zelda 2 - the mostly side-scrolling one - was underrated. Clearly the developer of Phoenotopia agrees, overworld and all.
It has a bunch of its own ideas, including physics'y, sometimes Immersive Sim-adjacent puzzles that can be solved in creative ways.

Ooh, sweet! If you haven't checked out Phoenotopia, you should. It's a Zelda 2-like platform adventure with an overworld, but with some Immersive Sim-like elements making the solutions to a lot of puzzles and problems open-ended.
