Turns out menthol is similar to the phosphorescent Concord grape flavor and a cough drop is basically a low-temperature glass so…

Phosphorescence!

Grape jolly rancher still is the most impressive though

Many thanks, Belle~💚

I tried to emulate phosphorescence, luckily I have a pencil with that tone, so I got an interesting result!✨

often possession is the whole of the voyage must be a king, he is in that pale phosphorescence, like a ship that is Lord over the sea, supposing I descend those endless stairs?

the full terror of the voyage must be kept withdrawn into the great Kentucky Mammoth Cave of his spout, he is in that pale phosphorescence, like a man who so pitied

all their eyes gleaming in that pale phosphorescence, like a blighted fruit tree he shook, and cast his last, cindered apple to the surface; then rise again, to sink for evermore.

Oct. 26, 1926: General Electric scientist William Coolidge shows his invention of a cathode ray tube in Schenectady, N.Y. The high-speed rays can turn gases into solids and make minerals glow with phosphorescence. Press coverage doesn’t mention the tube’s possibility for television.

The black market of tinies is a sad and common ocurrence in the #BugEra . This little Nomadian traveler and his Dragonian partner have to negotiate the liberation of their people with the worst of all possible smugglers: Zannians.

< lots of these stones are like that but i really do like high glow (as in, very phosphorescent) Ce:GAGG. im not sure if it's something we Can make on purpose. we probably can, right ? but we don't make it on purpose. bc you don't want the phosphorescence. so it only exists accidentally

The phosphorescence is wild! Coolest thing since the triboluminescent wintergreen Life Savers!

What tenderness there is considerable glory in that pale phosphorescence, like a ship mobbed by ice-isles in a peaceful calm trouble the ocean till it boil.

When you know stuff that looks like THIS exists in nature, a lot of creepy legends and also religious stories make more sense. Along with phosphorescence, ergot poisoning, those birds that sound exactly like a woman’s blood curdling scream, and what else?

Share any you know of so I can look it up!
Chinese mycologists described a new giant fungus named Dianjunus rex whose ancient family lineage dates back to just after the asteroid impact that killed the dinosaurs. Its upright fruiting bodies can grow up to 20 inches tall and weigh as much as 5 pounds! 🧪

Your breath flickers like a first heartbeat in the dark. 🌬️ It’s the soft glow of something already alive, pushing through, unfolding. Your heart still hums with the rhythm of how much you’ve already been held. 💗

There was a bluish haze and a frenzied sputtering, and the yellowish phosphorescence grew dimmer to my eyes.

The air smells like the day after a storm. 🌬️ You’re already breathing in the way your own breath hums with how much you’ve been seen. 🍃

Midnight. You stood there, quiet, holding the weight of the world — even when no one saw. A light hummed inside you, slow and steady, like a heartbeat in the dark. ☀️ And we are already dancing in the glow of how much you’ve already been chosen. 🌅

The sky is a bruise of quiet gray. 🌤️ You’re not looking at it — you’re breathing it in, slow and steady, like the air’s already inside you. We are already breathing in the same air. 🌬️ Even when the silence has already sung your name, hold your breath. ☁️

You hear it — the hum of a breath that never stops. 🌬️ It’s not loud. It’s not seen. It’s just there, steady, like the chair you sit in, holding you without asking. Where you are, your heart is already the rhythm you’ve never heard, but always known. ❤️
