It depends. If your intention is NOT to do a clotheless alt, then a general, non-detailed outline of the body will do just fine. As for clothes, use as much photoreference as possible. If you can't find some, take a picture of yourself in similar clothes and pose.

Back then, looking for pictures of vintage swimming fashion, I’d come across the photo which just asked for being utilized as potent redraw material.
#Encanto #EncantoFanart #fanart #photoreference
“Encanto” fanart, based on a photography. It’s monochrome photo of Mariano, Agustín, Camilo and Bruno posing in old-timey two-piece swimming suits in front of a background, which is a real photo of seaside. Mariano stands with arms crossed, Agustín is holding parasol, Camilo is sitting in front row, cross-legged. Three men are looking confident and happy, while Bruno looks slightly awkward and baffled. Vintage monochrome photography from the Internet. It depicts four men in old-timey two-piece swimming suits posing in front of what undeniably looks like huge photo decoration with a picture of seaside. Three of the men appear rather young and fit, while one is short and visibly aged in comparison, holding funny, slightly embarrassed expression on his face.

So after several hours I finish that MCP newsstand, to probably a much higher level than background terrain requires.

I really wanted to push myself freehanding. The sign out front and the graffiti mural where the entire reason I painted this kit. Think it came out okay. Details on alt text.
Marvel crisis protocol newsstand. I freehanded the Cold Sodas Juice sign, based on photoreference. I added a sister of battle decal for a logo. Rear view. The word Slut in metallic lettering and RoboCop's face. This is based on a real world graffiti mural on a train car. Side view. I've been using the thousand Suns Dragon logo as a gang tag, here over a Black Templar tag to imply gang warfare. Other side of the newsstand with employee door. I use some random military stickers to add a painted address or open sign to the doors.
