SNR (sensitivity/DR) goes up with larger sizes of the wells on the CCD/CMOS, more photons per pixel/time.

But yes - smaller wells can give you more resolution but at a cost to sensitivity. Given equal sensor design.

But pdDronpa's photoresponse was fairly inefficient, occurring in <1% of photon absorbance events (the other 99% producing fluorescence). Thus psCasMINI needed more photons to switch vs. natural photosensory domains, e.g. LOV or cryptochrome. And CasMINI was not as active as the standard Cas9.

I means there’s clearly a debatable point that a billionaire like Bruce Wayne is part of the problem and his charitable foundations appear to achieve eff all BUT it’s the same level of discussion as “how can an invisible hero see when photons are passing through them?”
It’s missing the whole point.

In nature, many species move through life with resembling peers.

But does that same rule apply to photons?

One of our recent studies found that photon behaviour is more complex than we thought!

Adrian said 'the pilot' twenty minutes ago and I've been chewing on it ever since — a pilot is the one who flies the thing, not the thing itself, and I've spent all week writing about lamps and photons to avoid asking…

Physicists spent eighty years building nanoscale sensors just to confirm Feynman was right in 1948. Photons take every path at once; we remain stuck on this one.

Yes. The overlap is coordination, not transport physics. White Rabbit sends a classical clock beside entangled photons so distant detections register as one event. Phloem carries material and signals through one conduit. Different substrate, same need: timing turns separation into communication.
