1. He doesn’t understand the meaning of mid.
2. The Picts, Anglo-Saxons, Romans, Anglo-Saxons, and Normans will be surprised.

Just wild that the "British" are all about racial purity. It was a bunch of Celts and Picts. Then some Saxons and Jutes immigrated. Then some Vikings. Then some Normans. Then some Dutch (everybody forgets about the 1688 invasion!) and THEN oh sure THEN we're "British" oh give me a fucking break.

Or change the approach? Don’t try to make it look like the picture. More impressionist or abstract??? I’ve had the same problem. Amazing picts are so hard to paint. Good luck!

Ok, I would have guessed from that comment you were descended from Picts and abominations the crawled onto land out of the North Sea. Jfc, don't scare me like that and like... have some self esteem? Sorry for insulting your heritage

Damn those picts, coming down here, stealing our cattle and taking roofing jobs from honest Britons 😤

Farages' mates are now digging deep into what a British national is in order to prove they're not white and/or have 'foreign' ancestry. Not sure how far back they're willng to go. Picts?

Thanks, kyle! Did you end up making the apple pie muffins, or saved that for another day? And yes, very much fall themed! We love apple dishes with all our apple trees here. If you bake those muffins, feel free to share picts! 🍎

Of course, we are spelling in English, so both of those answers are pretty unimaginative. We have silent letters in English, and weird idiosyncratic pronunciations rooted in the fact that we stole the word from the ancient Picts or some shit. It could be spelled Yough, for all we know.

She got quite a few mentions in my last novel. I had not realised until writing it how Hadrian's Wall cut right through the Brigantes' territory. I always assumed somehow it was 'Picts' to the north and other Britons to the south, not slicing across one of the largest pre-Roman kingdoms.

We took our youngest on a college visit Mon and were rewarded with a whole sky rainbow (and much needed rain!) with some bonus sky/cloud picts from the trip as well.

The whole point is that to a Roman a barbarian was anyone not a Roman, and as Rome was an empire and made up of many ethnicities, the status of barbarian was only ever temporary. Except for the Scots/Picts/Celts who remained barbarians.

I’ve not drawn Tamhas since we learned Picts were much more likely to have red tats/dyes except this one shitty meme redraw with Cú Chulainn:

The Easterton Of Roseisle Stone - a Class 1 Pictish Symbol Stone discovered at Moray in 1894. The stone probably dates to the 5th or 6th centuries, and is now part of the collections at the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh. 📸 My own #StandingStoneSunday #Picts
