Sondierung:

Also jedenfalls, das piert alles.
Die Handschuhe waren nicht Brennnesseldicht und meine Hände und Finger sind Feuer und ich will was hauen. (Natürlich nur, damit es auch innen brennt.)

We also spotted this Early Meadow Grass, Poa infirma, in flower today for #wildflowerhour. You can also see Parsley Piert and Mossy Stonecrop (but no flowers there!).

Some cheery Field Pansies (Viola arvensis) from an afternoon snooping about a new housing estate at Throckley. New lawns also held Field Madder, Parsley-piert, Green Field-speedwell and other #urbanflora goodies 👀🌱

Barrier Marsh, Wivenhoe. Where can you find Parsley Piert, Wall Speedwell and Blinks on a seasonally wet grazing marsh? On the mini-heathland microcosms atop each Yellow Meadow Anthill.

Bridport 4 Bishops Lydeard 0.

Slender Parsley Piert added to my plants at a football ground list. Nearby, two Clouded Yellows along the River Brit.

You can never stop looking.

Me: Show us #TinyPlants you say?
WFH: yes, you know, ones where you need an ant for scale.
Me: Ok, how about Lesser Swine-cress (Lepidium didymum) photobombed by a red ant?
WFH: That’ll do nicely! Any more?
Me: Well, Parsley-piert (Aphanes arvensis) was growing an ant’s-stroll away #WildflowerHour

My second encounter with Pink Shepherd's-purse Capsella rubella today - a large population on a trampled verge / pavement edge close to the Rowing Lake in Peterborough (VC32). Intensely pink sepals and a few characteristic heart-shaped siliquae.

#WildflowerHour How botanists meet! While kneeling in a car park at Woodbridge #Suffolk I was asked if I was a botanist by a lady who knew this plant by its common and scientific names: Parsley Piert, Aphanes arvensis! Yes it is flowering.

An anti ICE/CPB protest in New Orleans this weekend. I don't have any personal connection to the events but just spreading the word

I went out looking for winter flowering plants, specifically Hutchinsia. I didn't find my target but a few other things, Primroses, Barren Strawberry, and nearly in flower Hoary Whitlowgrass.

The limestone crags are the place to look apparently, but still never found it.

Danke euch.

Habe keinen Topfdeckel. Also nur einen Teller draufgelegt. Viel zu langsam angehoben und abgelenkt gewesen. Der heiße Dampf hat schön konzentriert drei Finger angestrahlt, und dann war die Haut weg.
Aber zum Glück die Außenseite.

Geht wieder. Sieht doof aus und piert ordentlich.

Andrena vaga (Grey-backed Mining Bee) in Norwich today, at the site it nested last year near the city centre. Visited with @vannabartlett.bsky.social.

The species is a recent arrival in Norfolk, first seen in Brundall in 2021 by @timstrudwick.bsky.social.

Oh that's such a great plant name- just made me smile! 👍
You could have claimed Parsley Piert played on the wing and laid on three of the goals after losing weight pre-season, and I would have deffo believed you.. 😀
