A PineNote only 5-day weekend
I went away this weekend to visit a friend and to experience hanami (the appreciation of the transient beauty of cherry blossoms, a cherished memory from living in Japan). A perfect scenario to bring only the PineNote on this five day trip. TL;DR: PineNote was exactly the right device for this and I have no complaints.

I've been using a community-driven PineNote pine64.org/devices/pine... for these purposes and really enjoying it, partly because the friction of its rough edges has been a nice sort of reminder to keep focused.

Not Android but the PineNote is a Linux e-reader and notepad that would let you run whatever doc viewer you like. It's a bit "compile this kernel patch to make the power button work" mind

I'd love that. But I think the limit now is the patent on eink displays. Pinenote is another interesting instrument (paired with a keyboard)
