The first #waterfall on the #PipiwaiTrail is #MakahikuFalls. It is nearly 200 feet tall. We love traveling off season, as we were the only ones here.

It tends to be muddy on the #PipiwaiTrail, so were appropriate footwear. There are some small wood boardwalks at the muddiest spots. So worth the muddy shoes!
