THIS. Both my parents worked. Mother was an office manager, father was a biology professor who moonlighted as a cab driver & hotdog vendor. They both came home from work tired. I feel if it's been a known issue you need to hold firm in your boundaries, if you are only a little guy you are a little guy. You can offer them playdates or regular pamp day hangs but if they won't accept that you aren't daddy you may need to leave the equation .
