#Playparks
I love this panel in one of the playparks in Kelvingrove Park in Glasgow. I'm not too sure if it's purely decorative or if it's an ornate manhole cover. As far as I can work out, it's a scene from Don Quixote, but that's just my best guess.

You can't go soliciting opinions in playparks anymore because of JNT.

There's a concrete Giant's Footprint in West Pilton Park, from the 1990s. Add it to your list of concrete bits of giants in housing estate playparks

Children nowadays are shunned by society. There arent as many playparks in chain fastfoods. Arcades are incredibly rare. They remove all public benches. The pigs hunt them down for "loitering". They are so swamped in schoolwork they dont have time for themselves. Social media rules their life.

Instead of poisonous sponsored ads on Facebook telling me the Greens will turn kiddies playparks into crack dens.

This morning, as I continue my exploration of #Ibusuki, I saw giant towers and kiddies' playparks.
This afternoon though, was quite unsettling- I couldn't get my head around a building with half its roof missing for some reason.

And of course nobody except the scaremongering right wing press is suggesting crack be sold in corner shops and smoked in playparks, even if its use were decriminalised and the gateway powder cocaine and heroin sales taken away from the criminal gangs by legalisation and regulation of supply

Where I lived in the 70s we had 4 pubs, 5 grocers shops, 2 chemists, 2 post offices, a GP surgery, 2 children's playparks, a cinema and 2 primary schools all within a 15 minute walk of home.
And a few chippys.

I am 100% convinced that a metric of "how easy is it to walk or bike to a playpark" is the only metric we actually need.

If kids can get to playparks easily and safely then it's highly likely that everyone else can get everywhere.

The SNP Government has provided £35 million to renew or improve play parks since May 2021 - £15 million in 2024/25 alone.

Playparks in #Motherwell and #Wishaw that benefitted from Scottish Government investment, include: George Street, Frood Street, Doon Street, Fir Place; and The Loaning.

Surely, there are fewer schools and playparks near Balmoral than Sandringham?
October 31, 2025 at 9:16 AM
Which on the back of an envelope means the two figures are roughly equal, so there's as many crack dens as playparks in Starmer's Britain because Labour refuse to properly regulate drugs
