Okay so obviously there's good memes in here, but also a bunch of hilariously perfect mcguffins/plothooks for main or side quests and some amazing concepts for high level artifacts to throw at 16-20s to spice up the loot pool from the usual suspects.

Not only is this a great book, but I've also run Call of Cthulhu using Harlem Unbound Second Edition! It's a well-made work of art and passion with more plothooks scattered throughout it's pages than I could even shake a stick at, plenty of fuel for all kinds of games set in Harlem!

I feel like people's interpretation in the fandom about "what constitutes a spoiler" is very... vague.
most folks (some creators included) seem to think that as long as you don't give away any BIG PLOTHOOKS ur good. which is frankly disrespectful toward folks who would prefer to go in blind

With XP players also feel pressured to make sure they clear everything. Milestone does not necessarily mean story progression, it means accomplishing something. If my players completely ignore my plothooks and successfully build a town instead, I would consider that a milestone.

I spent way too much time coming up with a way for my players to roll an NPC in the moment to create some exciting moments. I can't wait to see this in practice and draw the blorbos that end up being made!! I still have to add a few things like races and specific plothooks/sidequests each one has.

If you ARE using dice, a good way to do it is roll FIRST before the action happens at all and then have the scene show what that roll reflects. A player who knows they've rolled a full failure, and trusts their GM, can give you whole mission plothooks out of how much they fuck it up <3

Candy Land was largely how we got our start too - played it too many times and started making up stories about the characters, lol. There's a lot of material/plothooks on that gameboard.
