Some photos of the #Podostroma #cornu-damae in video above. It appeared to be growing from a dead tree with buttress roots, perhaps a fig. People have a lot of fear of this #mushroom and it initially caused concern when it was discovered in far north QLD. #fungifriends

One of my favourite #fungi finds here was #Podostroma #cornu-damae or as its usually known, the poison fire coral! This was the first time it was reported in NSW Australia :) A year earlier this valley was scoured to dirt by a massive land slip. #fungifriends

I revisited the # #Podostroma #cornu-damae a week later as was working on same site. It had faded in colour a bit. They were certainly more red than the camera captured. Can see my trusty loppers and herbicide bottle, for hunting devils fig weeds. #fungifriends

hes also wrong about Trichoderma/Podostroma cornu-damae (poison fire coral), with even the sources he linked in his video on poisonous fungi contradicting what he claimed about it.
definitely overblown claims about other mushrooms, too.

Trichoderma [née Podostroma] cornu-damae poisoning seems like it might even worse than that from amatoxins, but it's not as though it's not trying to tell you ahead of time that this may not be a good idea.
