#PoetInLockdown

That reminds me of the metaphor I used in the first sonnet I wrote for #PoetInLockdown all those years ago…
Sonnet I: Sky’s breath The April weather’s strange: warm breath one day, While next a bite of chill as dusk appears; The sun hues redly, looking down on fears That shiv’ring harsh unknowns may come this way. Each day’s a new uncertainty: it may Bring locked-down pain, or loneliness, or tears. And normal now, as dark’ning evening nears, Are climbing totals distant people say. But me, I walk: fresh air upon my face, I head uphill, like others keeping clear; I reach the top, and stop, and conjure space, Look down: dark town is empty, windows fear; But up: bright sky reflects the human race - It’s starry, ever changing, ever here.
